CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability)

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting to provide person-centered support to people who may require support to ageing, disability or some other reason.

The Certificate in Individual Support will qualify students to work in aged care facilities, the community and supported residential services. Aged Care facilities include private, public, retirement villages, nursing homes and hostels. Workers report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers.
  • This course will prepare you for a job in the Care industry.
  • You will be required to study 9 core units and 6 electives.
  • Student will be required to show proof of vaccination including COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination upon the enrolment and on work placement.
  • All AMES Australia industry certificate courses provide specialist English language support for refugees and migrants.

What will I learn?

  • Acquire hands on experience of minimum 120 hours during the work placement.

How will I learn?

The course will be offered in blended learning model

  • Classroom-based Learning, where the student attends AMES' campus with a Teacher/Trainer present
  • Online Learning, where the student studies remotely off campus using training materials that are provided online or correspondence by the Teacher/Trainer

Eligibility

Should be 18 years old or older - All potential learners will undertake an interview. Language and numeracy skills should be at least ACSF level 2 - Police check required for placement

9 months tuition plus minimum 120 hrs of practical work placement

This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding. Please refer to the schedule of fees for more information here or contact AMES Australia to check your eligibility for a concession fee.

There may be extra charges for learning materials, first aid certificate, police check & etc.

A fee concession to a student enrolled under the Asylum Seeker VET Program can then be granted in accordance with the Guidelines about Fees.

An intermediate level of English is required, however your English level will be assessed on application.
